The Road Across the Hills

'The Road Across the Hills' is Gráinne's debut album released in February 2019. Comprising entirely of her own compositions, it's music acts as a soundtrack to Patrick MacGill’s novel 'Children of the Dead End '.

Written as fiction, the book is in fact the authors unofficial autobiography, starting with an account of his childhood in Donegal, Ireland. The story then moves to Scotland where Dermod Flynn, as MacGill calls himself, begins to discover his talents as a writer.

"This is an intoxicating piece of work, and while individual excerpts enthral, its effectiveness is best engaged within its seamless unity when its manifold beauties, strengths, diversions and unexpected twists can be best enjoyed." - The Living Tradition

"Irish/Scottish and contemporary influences infuse Brady’s vibrant rhythms and rich lyrical patterns, illuminating peaks and troughs of the emigrant experience and the extremities of poverty. Arrangements evoke both adversity and lively inner strength." - RnR Magazine 5*****

"In Gráinne’s music, that empathetic quality shimmers right through the compositional bow of the narrative arc.” - Irish Music Magazine
